Overview: The ever-increasing volume of unstructured file data needing to be shared, managed and protected has become a real problem for IT managers--particularly those who need to provide online access to shared files for revenue generating workflows and processes. This report explores how the IBRIX Fusion segmented file system leverages standard-based servers and storage to create a fast and scalable networked file system that is easy to deploy and manage.
IBRIX Fusion software creates a scalable network-attached file system with a single name space. IBRIX Fusion software is used to cluster a number of industry-standard servers into an extremely scalable file system that can be accessed, managed and protected from a single interface.
IBRIX Fusion software works with three types of storage configurations: a cost-effective configuration that leverages the internal hard drives within a server, a more fault tolerant dual-path attached storage array configuration, or a high performance Fibre Channel disk array accessed through a SAN. While IBRIX Fusion software is extremely flexible and can be deployed to leverage a number of technologies including InfiniBand and Fibre Channel, turn-key Fusion-enabled systems that are extremely easy to install and deploy can be purchased from major system vendors including Dell, EMC, HP, and Sun.
