When King’s Daughters Medical Center’s planned to build a brand new data center concerns arose about the sheer number of physical devices involved. They had more than 100 in use, and even had about 20 regular PCs running as servers.

Efficiently managing so many servers posed many challenges, while housing them created others. At 800 square feet, the new data center was only slightly larger than the current one, and the IT staff also hoped to factor in some room for future expansion. Plus, they sought to support the hospital’s green objectives by reducing power and cooling and shrinking the new data center’s carbon footprint.

Check out this short case to study to learn how King’s Daughter’s Medical Center was able to easily and affordably:

  • Consolidated 105 servers to 12

  • Considerably reduce power and cooling bills

  • Decrease their carbon footprint

  • Create space for future data center expansion

  • And more
