Overview:
Lenovo and EMC aren't the most likely of partners, but earlier this month the two announced a broad strategic partnership around servers and networked storage. Lenovo wants to boost its presence in the x86 server market and alongside EMC it has started a server technology development project, the results of which will be sold by Lenovo and embedded in storage products by EMC. On the storage side, Lenovo will act as both OEM and reseller for EMC storage offerings, initially in its home market of China, though expanding internationally over time. And there's one more aspect to the partnership: Lenovo and EMC will form a new joint venture to sell the low-end NAS storage products that EMC inherited as part of its Iomega acquisition back in 2008
