Overview:
Dell, Inc. commissioned Principle Technologies to compare the performance on a heavy Exchange 2007 workload of two mid-range Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions. Tested and compared were the Dell PowerVault MD3000i iSCSI SAN Array and HP StorageWorks 2000i Modular Smart Array.


Among other findings, the Dell EqualLogic SAN delivered better performance on the Exchange workload tests. It delivered 86 percent more Achieved IOPS per disk than the HP StorageWorks SAN. Additionally, it delivered 77 percent greater throughput. Read on for a complete breakdown of the results.
